Notice of Executive Decisions

Notice of Executive Decisions

The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 came into effect on 10 September 2012.

The Regulations have replaced the Forward Plan with the following document:

Notice of Executive Key Decisions and Executive Decisions which are confidential under the terms of the Local Government Act 1972 Schedule 12A

The new Regulations require 28 days notice to be given of all Executive Key Decisions, including those delegated to Portfolio Holders and Officers, and all Executive confidential decisions where the public and press will be excluded from the meeting.

The Regulations also allow for members of the public to make representations against an item being discussed in private, details of which must be published on the agenda for the meeting along with the decision making body’s response.

The Notice includes a short description of the decision to be made; who will make it; when the decision will be taken; whether the decision is to be made in private and reasons why; a list of background papers and contact details for further information.
