Setting the 2014/2015 Council Tax PDF 44 KB Report of the Director of Finance Minutes: The Committee received a report of the Director of Finance to consolidate the decisions of the Council and the two precepting authorities to give the overall Council Tax for the residents of Watford for the coming Financial Year.
The Director of Finance introduced the report. The report followed the agreement of the Borough’s share of the Council Tax at Budget Council on 29 January 2014. The County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner had now formally agreed their precepts which allowed the overall Council Tax to be set.
Following a question from Councillor Turmaine, the Director of Finance confirmed that Watford’s component for Band D properties was 249.84 and the total of 1516.49 included all three components. All three precepting authorities had frozen their Council Tax.
In accordance with the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2014, a recorded vote was taken.
Those voting in favour of the resolution: Councillors Ayre, Shah, Taylor, Turmaine, Walford and Watkin
The resolution, as set out in the report, was CARRIED.
RESOLVED – that the Committee formally sets the total Council Tax for Watford Borough Council, which includes the precepts for Hertfordshire County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire, as set out in the report.
