Purpose:

In December 2021, Cabinet approved plans to refurbish the Town Hall and Colosseum. These plans were costed with a budget approved by Council in January 2022. Work has continued to progress on the plans for both sites with a joint Design and Build procurement exercise for a main contractor being undertaken during May and June 2022. This report seeks Cabinet decision on the recommendation to appoint the contractor such that they can continue the design and progress to commence works on site from late 2022.

Decision:

RESOLVED –

 

1.      that the progress to date and the procurement route implemented to select a principal contractor for the main works contract is noted.

 

2.      that Morgan Sindall is appointed as the principal contractor for the refurbishment of the Town Hall and Colosseum.
