A children's learn to ride facility is proposed for King George V Park. It is proposed to appoint a specialist contract, Play Scheme Ltd (PSL), for this work. PSL have prepared a preliminary scheme and cost estimates and these formed the basis of a successful application for Sport England match funding grant.
There are few specialist design
and build contractors for the type of scheme proposed for
KGV. Play Schemes Ltd have recently delivered similar children learn-to-ride facilities in Gravesend, Paddington, Westminster, and Nottingham.
An 'exemption from contract procedures' was approved on 17 May 2021 for the appointment of Play Scheme Ltd to construct this facility.
