Committee membership/ election of a Chair

Minutes:

The Democratic Services Officer confirmed that the Sub-Committee would comprise Councillors Hofman, Pattinson and Saffery.

 

The Sub-Committee was asked to elect a Chair for the hearing.

 

RESOLVED –

 

that Councillor Saffery be elected Chair for this hearing.

 

All parties present introduced themselves.

 

There was an adjournment to make contact with parties to the hearing who were not present.

 

All parties present confirmed that they were satisfied for the hearing to take place in private.

Disclosure of interests (if any)

Minutes:

There were no disclosures of interest.

Exclusion of Press and Public

The Chair to move: that, under Section 100A (4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business as it is likely, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings, that if members of the public were present during consideration of the item there would be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in Section 100(1) of the Act for the reasons stated below in terms of Schedule 12A.

 

Note: if approved, the Chair will ask members of the press and public to leave the meeting at this point.

RESOLVED -

Review of Premises Licence - Twisted Monkey, 46 The Parade, High Street, Watford

A report following an application to review a premises licence.

 

Schedule 12 A paragrpahs 1, 2 and 7.

Minutes:

Officers confirmed that as reasonable attempts had been made to contact the Licence Holder’s representatives, the hearing could continue in their absence.

 

The Sub-Committee received a report of the Senior Licensing Officer outlining an application for a review of the premises licence for Twisted Monkey, 46 The Parade, Watford.

 

The officer provided an overview of the review application and the relevant policy and statutory guidance.

 

The police presented their application and supporting evidence to the sub-committee.

 

Members and officers asked questions about the application and received responses.     

 

The Chair advised that all parties would be advised of the decision within five working days.

 

RESOLVED –

 

that the licence for Twisted Monkey, 46 The Parade, High Street, be revoked in order to promote the licensing objectives.
