Council Tax 2013/2014 Report of the Head of Strategic Finance Minutes: The Committee received a report of the Head of Strategic Finance consolidating the decisions of the Council and the two precepting authorities to give the overall Council Tax for the residents of Watford for the coming Financial Year.
The Revenues Manager introduced the report and drew the Committee’s attention to the table in paragraph 3.3. He reported that Hertfordshire County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner had approved their precepts as set out in the report. This report set the final Council Tax and was a freeze by all the precepting bodies.
Councillor Counter noted the amount which went to Hertfordshire County Council was considerably higher than for the other bodies. The Revenues Manager responded that they took 80 percent and this was due to the type of services provided; this was consistent with County Council structures elsewhere.
RESOLVED –
That the Committee formally sets the total Council Tax for Watford Borough Council, including the precepts for Hertfordshire County Council and the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hertfordshire, as set out in the table below.
