Licensing Act 2003 - Annual Report for 2018 PDF 102 KB Report of the Head of Community and Environmental Services providing the Committee with the annual report for 2018.
Minutes: The Committee received the annual licensing report of the Head of Community and Environmental Services. The Senior Licensing Officer introduced the report. He explained that there had been a small reduction in the number of licensed premises during the year but that the applications which were pending at the time of writing the report had since been granted, including one new licence, and there was currently one application for a new licence pending.
The Senior Licensing Officer went on to discuss licensing sub-committee hearings, new licence applications, issues in respect of license variations, surrendered licenses, Temporary Event Notices, complaints, and a look forward to future developments; including a potential review by government on licensing matters and possible changes to the Late Night Levy.
In response to a question from members, the Senior Licensing Officer explained how the Late Night levy operated in practice and how monies received would be split between the police and local councils. He advised that the proportions of the split in the future may form part of the government review.
